Hike the Red Trail Loop – Lake Mineral Wells SP

The Red Trail is now a full loop! Join us as we explore both the Lower and newly opened Upper Red Trail. This route allows hikers to complete the trail without walking along the road or doubling back. Expect a mix of terrain, scenic views, and a chance to experience this updated trail from start to finish.
Red Trail Hikes begin at the main Penitentiary Hollow Trailhead (look for the large trailhead sign).
