Rose Jordan Mineral Wells Director of Tourism

ROSE JORDAN, Director of Tourism

Rose Jordan is the Director of Tourism for Mineral Wells. With a wealth of certifications, including Wellness Travel Specialist, Digital Marketing Professional, Certified Texas Destination Marketer, Certified Travel Executive, and an Executive Certificate in Transformation Nonprofit leadership from Notre Dame, she brings a comprehensive skill set to her role. Rose’s commitment to the community led her to serve on the Mineral Wells Tourism & Hospitality Council before assuming her current position in 2018.

In 2019, to create a more energized and proactive tourism program, Jordan sought to identify Mineral Wells’ most compelling attributes and points of differentiation from other destinations. After in-depth research as well as engaging a professional tourism audit, Jordan spearheaded a campaign to realign Mineral Wells with its original wellness roots. During this process, Rose pursued the Wellness Tourism Association’s Pillars of Wellness as an inspiring yet attainable framework for the city’s wellness initiatives. Currently, she leads the charge in securing the prestigious designation of Mineral Wells as the Wellness Capital of Texas.

Notably, Rose’s connection to the tourism industry goes beyond her professional role. She and her husband have served as park hosts at Lake Mineral Wells State Park for two years, immersing themselves in the attractions they promote. Their active involvement includes assisting with kayak tours, guided hikes, and other engaging park programs. In her leisure time, Rose finds solace in her downtown studio, indulging in painting and writing. She also shares her expertise by teaching creative journaling as a mindful practice. This multifaceted approach exemplifies Rose’s passion for holistic well-being and her dedication to fostering a vibrant tourism experience in Mineral Wells.


CAROL ELDER, Owner of Famous Water Mineral Water Company

Carol Elder, along with her husband Scott Elder, have owned and operated the Famous Mineral Water Company, bottling Crazy Water, in Mineral Wells, Texas since 1999. In 2010 they formed Crazy Water Bottling Company and have overseen Crazy Water’s impressive expansion statewide.  

Elder is a key fixture in the Mineral Wells community and plays a pivotal role in the community’s transformation into a thriving health and wellness destination.  Born and raised in Mineral Wells, Her contributions extend to various committees, including the Quality of Life Council, Downtown Merchants, and Friends of Crazy Water. Carol has actively participated in the development of wellness retreats, festivals, and collaborations with health and wellness educators, ensuring that Mineral Wells gained recognition as the official Wellness Destination of Texas. Additionally, she is one of the owners of the Crazy Water Hotel, a beautifully restored historic property that serves as the vibrant heart of downtown Mineral Wells.


REGAN WALLACE, Mineral Wells Mayor

Regan Wallace is the Mayor of Mineral Wells. Elected in 2020, she previously served on the Mineral Wells City Council from 2017-2020. A Mineral Wells native, she spent her childhood in the city and returned permanently in 2007.

Wallace is truly invested in the Mineral Wells community. In addition to her mayoral duties, Wallace is co-owner of Brazos Market & Bistro in the heart of downtown, as well as co-owner of Lofts & Hospitality, a downtown guesthouse, and the art director of Perri Leavelle Design.

Wallace has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and a Master’s of Science Degree in Management and leadership from Tarleton State University. She is the mother of two children and enjoys the range of Mineral Wells’ outdoor opportunities including golf, fishing, hunting, and anything in nature with her children. Wallace has been a proud supporter of the Mineral Wells wellness initiatives and proclaimed March the Month of Wellness in Mineral Wells. She also addressed the Texas Culture, Recreation and Tourism Committee at the state capitol on behalf of Mineral Wells.


CAROL MONTGOMERY, Clark Gardens Botanical Park

Carol Montgomery is the director of Clark Gardens Botanical Park, a stunning 35-acre botanical park known for its enchanting beauty. Carol is instrumental in developing locally focused wellness programs within the park. One notable collaboration includes partnering with other wellness providers to curate a month-long event featuring health, art, and nature-based activities.

Through the years, 1,000 school-aged children have participated in programming at Clark Gardens that focuses on the importance of a healthy environment.

As an ardent gardener, Carol understands the profound impact of nature on well-being. She passionately emphasizes the numerous benefits of spending time outdoors, citing studies that highlight improved memory, reduced anxiety and stress, and enhanced immunity as some of the remarkable outcomes.

In addition to her role at Clark Gardens, Carol actively serves on the Mineral Wells Area Chamber of Commerce Healthy Mineral Wells Team. This committee works tirelessly to promote the diverse range of wellness opportunities available in Palo Pinto County, catering to both local citizens and tourists alike. Carol’s dedication to fostering wellness in the community is truly commendable.


CARLA HAY-PERDUE DNP, APRN, FNP, ANP-BC NC-BC  

Carla Hay-Perdue is the chair of Healthy Mineral Wells, a pivotal local initiative spearheading the city’s transformation into a healthier community. With a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Texas Tech University, Carla brings extensive expertise to her role. She has completed both the basic and advanced Integrative Nurse Coaching Program, as well as Advancing Nurse Coaching’s 3 principle-based coaching program. Certified by the American Holistic Nursing Credentialing Corporation, Carla is a skilled coach, empowering individuals on their wellness journeys. Additionally, she holds a certification as a functional nutrition counselor through the Functional Nutrition Alliance. Currently serving as an Adult Nurse Practitioner and Health and Wellness Educator for Palo Pinto General Hospital, Carla’s dedication to promoting health and wellness is invaluable to Mineral Wells’ thriving wellness landscape.


NIKKI ELMS, Lake Mineral Wells State Park

Nikki Elms is the dedicated manager of the state park in Mineral Wells. With a passion for preserving natural beauty and promoting outdoor activities, Nikki works tirelessly to create an enriching experience for visitors. Her deep connection to the park and unwavering commitment to its well-being make her an invaluable asset in shaping Mineral Wells’ identity as a wellness destination. Nikki brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role, ensuring that the state park thrives as a vital component of the town’s wellness offerings.
