Crafts at the Castle – Blackout Poetry

I know we said that we would be posting our craft day next week, but we have gotten the news that one of our authors is unfortunately not going to make it next weekend. So instead of cancelling next Saturday’s (8/17) day of fun, we are officially going to have our first Craft Night at the Castle!!!
Our craft? Blackout Poetry! Using a page from a book (ethically sourced 
), we circle/highlight/leave alone words that we want to use to make a creative new poem and cross out all other words. I have attached a few examples below for reference. Come in anytime on Saturday, August 17th and try your hand at it!
For the younger kids who may not want to participate, we will have coloring sheets available as well! This is a free event for all!
Fun fact: Poetry doesn’t have to be hard or overly complex, it can be as simple and light hearted or heavy and complex as you wish. Blackout poetry is fun for all ages!
