Visit the W. K. Gordon Museum & Research Center and discover a different view of Thurber on September 10th at 6 pm. Dr. Liles will kick off the newest title in the Tuesday Talk’s series “A Woman’s Lot in Thurber, Texas.”
As men toiled in the mines and brickyard, a vital workforce of women labored in Thurber. They maintained homes, raised children, ran boarding houses, worked in company stores and offices, and created social organizations and activities to make life as bearable and entertaining as possible.
